Engineers Scholarship- This award is
available to high school seniors and all
students attending a post secondary
educational facility. You are not required
to be taking Engineering courses to be

Governor's Reality Check Challenge –
Governor Gary R. Herbert invites Utah high
school students to enter to win a $1,000,
$500, or $100 contribution to a Utah
Educational Savings Plan (UESP) 529 college
savings account! Reality Check is a
personalized online assessment found on
www.UtahFutures.org.
To be eligible for the prize drawing,
complete the following steps between
Tuesday, October 11, 2011, and 11:59 p.m. on
Friday, October 21, 2011: 1. Go to
www.UtahFutures.org
and login to your UtahFutures account. You
will need to know your State Student
Identifier (SSID) - it will be your
UtahFutures username. If you don't know your
SSID and login information, check with your
school's guidance counselor. 2. Go to:
http://realitycheckchallenge.eventbrite.com
and register for the challenge by providing
your first and last name, your UtahFutures
username, and your phone number and e-mail
address. 3. Log in to
www.utahfutures.org.
4. Click on the "Career Interest Surveys"
tab near the top of the screen. Select
"Reality Check" - it's the first option on
the right side of the screen. 5. Watch the
online video. It's one minute and 30 seconds
in length and explains the assessment. 6.
Click the "Get a Reality Check" button and
complete the assessment. Save the assessment
by clicking on the star entitled "Save as
New." 7. In the text box that appears,
record something you learned from doing the
assessment. Winners will be notified the
week of October 24 and given instructions on
how to claim their UESP award. Deadline:
11:59 p.m. on Friday, October 21, 2011.
Horatio
Alger Scholarship - The Horatio
Alger Association’s State Scholarship
Program in Utah, provides financial
assistance to students in the state of Utah
who have exhibited integrity and
perseverance in overcoming personal
adversity and who aspire to pursue higher
education. There are twenty-five $5,000
scholarships awarded annually and funded
through the generosity of the Rocky Mountain
Power Foundation. Scholarship criteria
include graduation in 2012, commitment to
pursuing a bachelor’s degree, critical
financial need ($50,000 or less adjusted
gross income per family is preferred, or
explanation must be provided), involvement
in co-curricular and community activities,
and minimum GPA of 2.0. Applications and

Coca-Cola
Scholars Program - Seniors in high
schools throughout the U.S. who meet the
eligibility requirements (including a
minimum GPA of 3.0 at the end of junior year
in high school) may apply for one of 250
four-year, achievement-based scholarships.
Approximately 2,200 applicants will be
selected as Semifinalists. Semifinalists
must then complete a secondary application,
including essays, official transcripts, and
two letters of recommendation. The Program
Review Committee will select 250 Finalists
to advance to the final interview phase.
Finalists are interviewed by a National
Selection Committee representing outstanding
leaders in business, government, education
and the arts. 50 students are then
designated as National Scholars and receive
awards of $20,000 for college; 200 students
are designated as Regional Scholars and
receive awards of $10,000 for college. For

The Coca-Coca Scholars program is highly
competitive and the application is rather
